At any cost?
When setting price, marketers must take into consideration several factors For instance, product pricing may depend heavily on the productivity of a manufacturing facility
pricing decision of hero company
The marketer knows that increasing productivity can reduce the cost of producing each product and thus allow the marketer to potentially lower the product’s price. But increasing productivity may require major changes at the manufacturing facility that will take time since hero is old company and producing a large no of bicycles she uses the above strategy
I was hit
There are many factors that play a role in a firm’s decision to adapt its product offering to individual international markets
Another very influential factor that firms must deal with in deciding what level of product adaptation they will pursue is the political and legal environment of the international market that they plan to enter
finally, stages of economic and market development spur the firm’s decision towards adaptation.
Among the largest factors are the nature of the product, the cost of adaptation, the convergence of consumer tastes between countries, and competition decides the product adoprtion
In begining i think that there product might not be good but when my friends tell me the its features i start thinking to change my view point and when they low the prices of hero bicycles in comparison to its competitors i finally change my decision
Promotional mix
There are four main aspects of the Promotional Mix.
advertising
the promotion of ideas, goods, or services by an identified sponsor is called advertising
personal selling
A process of helping and persuading one or more prospects to purchase a good or service or to act on any idea through the use of an oral presentation.
sales promotions
activities done usually in short period of time is called sales promotion activites
public relations
presenting the product on a favorable presentation in the media.
This is something i love
a group of closely related product items in terms of function, benefit, production and the way in which they are marketed
and the product lining is the marketing strategy of offering for sale several related products. The number of different product lines sold by a company is referred to as width of product mix. The total number of products sold in all lines is referred to as length of product mix.
hero cycles product line
roadsterz zone ,boys zone, girls zone ,kids zone
what is product mix?
The product mix of a company, which is generally defined as the total composite of products offered by a particular organization, consists of both product lines and individual products. A product line is a group of products within the product mix that are closely related, either because they function in a similar manner, are sold to the same customer groups
Brand-A brand is a name ,term ,design ,symbol or other feature that distinguishes products and services from competitive offerings

The marketing envoirment
Hero Cycles is a product of four Munjal brothers, hailing from a small town called Kamalia, now in Pakistan, are the men who are behind the mission In the year 1944, they decided to start a business of bicycle spare parts in Amritsar. Its is modest beginning and the next 3 years saw the business grow rapidly From a modest beginning of mere 639 bicycles in the year 1956, Hero Cycles products over 18500 cycles a day today, the highest in global reckoninThe Hero Group, today, is a vast conglomerate of companies, either in the form of collaborations, joint ventures or fully owned subsidiaries, with more than Rs. 10000 Crore turnover annually. Hero Group, besides being the world’s largest manufacturers of bicycles, motorcycles and chains to this date, has diversified into newer segments like Information Technology, IT Enabled Services and Financial Services.
What is marketing environment ?
The marketing environment surrounds and impacts upon the organization. There are three key perspectives on the marketing environment, namely the 'macro-environment,' the 'micro-environment
The micro environment
This environment influences the organization directly. It includes suppliers that deal directly or indirectly, consumers and customers, and other local stakeholders like organization structure, culture and resources
In other words, these are elements that can be manipulated, or used to glean information, in order to provide fuller satisfaction to the company’s customers. The objective of marketing philosophy is to make profits through satisfying customers. This is accomplished through the manipulation of the variables over which a company has control in such a way as to optimise this objective. The variables are what Neil Borden has termed ‘the marketing mix’
Company case hero cycles
Customers
Organisations survive on the basis of meeting the needs, wants and providing benefits for their customers
hero cycles has a customers of all the classes and age group some buy them for exercise purpose and some for some another purpose because they can afford the bicycles only .Parents of kids form a long part of customers of hero cycles
employes
Employing the correct staff and keeping these staff motivated is an essential part of the strategic planning process of an organisation.
suppliersIncrease in raw material prices will have a knock on affect on the marketing mix strategy of an organisation Closer supplier relationships is one way of ensuring competitive and quality products for an organisation.
in case of hero cycles hero cycles has a very close relation with their supliers situated in germany italy and uk .the company take spare parts from them
Competitors
Competitor analysis in markting and strategic manegement is an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competiors
the basic competitors of hero company are
atlas , hercules , phillips , B.S.A.
The macro environment
This includes all factors that can influence and organization, but that are out of their direct control. some of them are
1) political factors
To many companies, domestic political considerations are likely to be of prime concern Many of the legal, economic and social developments, in our own society and in others, are the direct result of political decisions put into practice, for example the privatization of state industries or the control of inflation.
2) economic factors
Economic factors are of concern to marketing firms because they are likely to influence, among other things, demand, costs, prices and profits. These economic factors are largely outside the control of the individual firm
3) socio culture factors
this is the the most difficult element of the macro-environment to evaluate, manifesting itself in changing tastes, purchasing behaviour and changing priorities
4) technological factors
Technology is a major macro-environmental variable which has influenced the development of many of the products
Marketing from my point of view
At early stages i think that marketing is just a kind of advertising the product and services but when i understand the complete definition it includes a lot of things
I thinks that marketing is very imp for me i can not imagine world without marketing. Marketing is a broad concept that covers a range of aspects, including advertising, public relations, sales, and promotions. People often confuse in sales and marketing and understands it as a one and a same thing but in reality it is not the former involves getting a product or service into the market, promoting it, influencing behavior, and encouraging sales and the latter are the actual transaction of getting a product or service into the hands of the customers.
marketing at a very simple level
Firstly information coming from customers to the supplying company Then this information is noted and goods or services are supplied to customers in line with customer needs
The information flow represents an exchange of ideas whilst the operation flow represents an exchange of meanings.
Marketing
I thinks that
Marketing is the social process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want through creating and exchanging products and value with others
